About the Position:
ESA is currently seeking an Associate to work as part of our Northern California Community Planning & Design team out of our Sacramento Office. The candidate will work on a variety of interesting and challenging planning projects ranging from general plans, specific plans, master plans, sustainability plans, design guidelines, and zoning codes, as well as associated planning studies and projects. The successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the principles and practices of community planning, have a working knowledge of planning and zoning laws and familiarity with related land use issues. Candidates must possess effective problem-solving ability, excellent communication skills, the ability to work both independently and with a team, and the desire to grow professionally.
Qualified candidates should have at least a BA/BS with major course work in a planning, community development, urban design or a related field. A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in community planning is desirable.
