Humboldt County’s Climate Action Plan
August 10 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
In 2006, California established its first statewide greenhouse gas reduction target and began developing policies and programs to cut emissions. City and County governments soon followed suit by creating local Climate Action Plans. To date, over 40% of cities and counties in the state have completed a CAP. These CAPs outline the specific actions an agency will take to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that occur within their jurisdiction boundaries.
The County of Humboldt is currently working with the seven cities to develop a Regional Climate Action Plan. County Planner Connor McGuigan will join us to discuss the project and give an overview of accomplishments to date and upcoming milestones. The presentation will focus on a central question to the Climate Action Plan effort: How can our local jurisdictions reach ambitious state targets for greenhouse gas reductions?
