Under the general direction of the Office Chief, System and Regional Planning, the incumbent is responsible for planning, organizing and leading critical climate change adaptation activities in District 4.
The incumbent provides leadership in coordinating and promoting climate change efforts. S/he develops, coordinates, and facilitates implementation of climate change policy and strategies into transportation decision-making. Incumbent coordinates climate change activities across all appropriate functional units; provides technical assistance identifying and supporting research and analysis of climate change and adaptation; identifies and provides outreach, education, and training on climate change, air quality, and alternative energy. Acts as asset manager for climate change projects and/or assists in identifying adaptation measures for SHOPP projects. The position requires excellent analytical, writing and communication skills, composing special reports and knowledge of contract management.
