City of Santa Cruz – Senior Planner

The Senior Planner manages, oversees, reviews and performs complex professional land use and urban planning work, such as current planning, advance planning, implementation of the City’s General Plan, development review, management of Citywide pre-application review, and major, complex planning projects; provides direction and training to assigned staff; and, performs other related duties as assigned.  The vacancy is in the Current Planning division.  Typical qualifications include Bachelor’s degree in urban or regional planning or related field, and 4 years increasingly responsible experience in urban or regional planning.  A Master’s degree in urban or regional planning or a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.  City of Santa Cruz offers PERS retirement and excellent health benefits!  Recruitment closes at 5:00 p.m. Thursday 09/5/19.
