In addition to managing entitlements for a wide range of projects, the incumbent may work on a variety of long-range planning and policy projects, such as a Coastal Area transportation plan, our green infrastructure plan and updates to general plan policies and zoning regulations.

The ideal candidate is a team player and independently-motivated individual, responsible for overseeing permitting for complex development projects, long-range planning studies and the interpretation/development of policies and ordinances. The candidate is an excellent communicator (both written and verbal) who can develop consensus and successfully work with a diverse community. The candidate can manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a timely manner as well as provide guidance to other members of the staff and the public.
