The ideal candidate for Principal Planner is a creative, critical thinker who is comfortable with a collaborative approach. They are an engaged problem–solver with a broad perspective that will provide exemplary leadership to team members, while taking initiative to ensure that excellent public service is provided.
Under direction, the Principal Planner plans, organizes and directs the work of a major function of the Department of Planning and Community Development, such as advance planning and current planning, including environmental review; plans, organizes, supervises, reviews and participates in the work of assigned staff; coordinates activities with other divisions, City departments, outside agencies and organizations; makes recommendations to the City Council, Planning Commission and a variety of related boards and committees; and, performs other related duties as required.
$8,577.00 – $11,608.00 Monthly
$102,924.00 – $139,296.00 Annually
