SALARY: $8,644 – 11,554 / Month

THE JOB:

  • Plan, organize and direct a newly formed section of the Public Works Department;
  • Act as designated, on behalf of an Assistant Director in their absence.

The current vacancy is within the Transportation Division of the Public Works Department, however, will fulfill environmental permitting needs for most sections within the Public Works Department.

THE REQUIREMENTS: Any combination of education and experience which would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying, unless otherwise specified. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

One year of work experience equivalent to a Planner IV or Resource Planner IV at Santa Cruz County, including experience leading teams and directing the work of others.

Equivalent experience could be possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in planning, urban studies, natural science, architecture or a closely related field and four years of work experience as a Planner which included leadership and/or supervisory experience.
