Sam Sargent, AICP

Sam serves as Director of Strategy and Policy for Caltrain. Prior to joining the railroad’s executive team, he served as Interim Vice President of Government Affairs, Director of Strategy, and Deputy Chief of Staff for Capital Metro in his hometown of Austin, Texas. A planner and lawyer by training, Sam holds bachelors and law degrees from Boston University.

He is a Mass Transit 40 Under 40 and Railway Age 25 Under 40 award winner. Sam lives in the Bay Area with his wife and dog, Gracie. When he is not working on the railroad, you can find him running, reading and exploring California.
