NEW DATE – Workshop: MTC’s Transit 2050+ [In-Person Event]

Transit 2050+, the region’s first Connected Network Plan and a key element of The Metropolitan Transportation Commission’s (MTC) update of Plan Bay Area, marks a significant shift in the Bay Area toward planning for a more seamless transit experience for users. MTC and transit agencies will be co-leading an 18-month effort to develop plans for a connected network, including opportunities for riders to provide their thoughts on a well-connected service. In coordination with MTC staff, SPUR is excited to provide one such opportunity. Join us for a brief presentation on Transit 2050+ by MTC and SPUR staff, followed by a workshop exercise. This program is open to all, but a target group of guests, including transit operator staff, is encouraged to attend.

Trolley to Tijuana: Extending San Diego’s Blue Line

With tens and thousands of people traveling between Tijuana, Mexico, to San Diego, California everyday for work, these commuters have faced incredibly long wait times to cross border patrol and get to their jobs. As a response to these increased times, officials in Baja California are conducting a feasibility study for an extension of San Diego’s Blue Line Trolley that would allow riders to cross the U.S. – Mexico border and potentially shave hours off of commutes. How is the project navigating this unique and complex regulatory environment, and what can the Bay Area learn from the spirit of innovation and regional cooperation in the growing Cali Baja Megaregion? Join us to learn about the fascinating project and why this link is so important to communities on both sides of the border.
