By Kate Christopherson, RAC-South Bay Coordinator, March 25, 2026

The South Bay regional activity event officially launched the 2026 calendar last night, and I wanted to share a brief recap while the highlights are still fresh.
The gathering took place at Gourmet Haus Staudt in Redwood City from 4:30-6:30 PM, drawing 13 participants, including myself. Attendees represented a diverse range of organizations, including the Cities of Redwood City and Palo Alto, Fehr & Peers, Midpen Regional Open Space, Stanford, and even a retired planner, Bill Lieberman. Most guests arrived between 5:00 and 7:00 PM, so future events will likely adopt this timeframe.
During the event, I checked in with participants about their preferences for upcoming activities. The consensus favored weekday after-work gatherings—unsurprisingly, given the turnout for this evening’s event.

Overall, the evening was a success. We enjoyed excellent conversations, and many expressed their appreciation to APA for hosting such a relaxed and welcoming after-work meetup.
Stay tuned for details of upcoming events. We hope to see you next time!
