The APA’s Sustainable Communities Division (SCD) is launching a new pilot sustainability leadership program, the State Chapter Sustainability Champion program.
They accepted nominations and selected champions this past August/September.
Scott Edmondson, founder, ex-co-director, and now Research Program lead for the Northern Section’s Sustainability Committee, was nominated and then selected as the California State APA Chapter champion and is looking forward to working with the Board.
He will continue his role in the Northern Section APA Sustainability Committee, which he proposed and co-directed with Katja Irvin in 2010 until January 2013, when increasingly limited time necessitated a switch in roles.
The APS SCD champion’s program grew out of the research and facilitated discussion that Scott initiated with the Committee for the 2013 APA National Conference in Chicago (see this post).
A description of the champion’s program can be found here.
