We are excited to announce the following open board positions:
Awards Program Co-director
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: In addition to the duties listed in the Bylaws [add hyperlink], the primary responsibilities of the Awards Program Director are:
- Work with the Communications Director to publicize the Section’s annual awards program and solicit nominations.
- Facilitate the Jury Selection Committee in evaluating nomination applications and selecting winners in each category.
- Work with the Events Program Manager to organize an annual Awards Gala to honor award winners.
- Organize and lead the Awards Committee.
CPF Liaison
In addition to the duties listed in the Bylaws [add hyperlink], the primary responsibilities of the CPF Liaison are:
- Coordinate with CPF and attend monthly meetings.
- Work with Board Members to promote CPF scholarships at Section meetings and events and through Section communication channels.
- Fundraise for CPF scholarships for Section planners.
- Coordinate with the Events Program Manager and/or serve on the Section Holiday Party Committee as CPF’s primary fundraising opportunity.
Social Media Coordinator
In addition to the duties listed in the Bylaws [add hyperlink], the primary responsibilities of the Social Media Coordinator are:
- Regularly disseminate Section news, events, and announcements across the Section’s official social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn).
- Coordinate with the Communications Director, Editor(s), and other Board Members, as appropriate, on communications strategy.
- Build brand awareness by creating and editing written, video, and photo content.
- Engage with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries, and comments.
- Set social media goals, review analytics, and report on key performance metrics.
- Develop creative campaigns to increase user engagement and promote events.
- Stay up to date with changes in social media platforms and advise the Communications Director on emerging trends and issues.

For appointed positions, you must be an APA member with current/paid-up membership and reside or practice planning within Northern (Alameda, Contra Costa, Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake, Marin, Mendocino, Monterey, Napa, San Benito, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, and Sonoma counties).
