The City of Santa Cruz has a vacancy for an Associate Planner II in the Planning & Community Development Department.
The Associate Planner II will work in the Current Planning Division of the Planning Department and will be responsible for assisting the public with planning questions, as well as processing permits for basic to intermediate level projects depending on level of experience, including but not limited to Coastal Permits, Administrative Use Permits, Design Permits, Sign Permits, and Overheight Fence Permits. The Associate Planner II will be responsible for conducting full permit reviews including presenting projects to commissions, as needed, and review of building permit applications. Other duties may include representing the City at community meetings and events, coordinating with other divisions or city departments on special projects, and assisting with other planning processes.
The minimum qualifications for the Associate Planner II (current vacancy) are a Bachelor’s degree in Urban, Regional or Park Planning, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Studies, or related field; and two years of increasingly responsible related professional planning experience. The eligible list for this position may be used to fill future vacancies for Associate Planner I/II for other department. Associate Planner I salary range is $7,870- $10.145 monthly ($45.41 – $58.53 hourly) Associate Planner II salary range is: $8,659 – $11,161 monthly ($49.95 – $64.39 hourly)
