Current Open Positions

Mentorship Director

Our long-time Mentorship Director has relocated out of state, and we now have an opening to an interested member with a passion for helping members advance in their careers to take the reins on this well-established program.  Duties include implementing the mentorship program, recruiting mentors and mentees, facilitating matches and virtual introductions of mentors and mentees, organizing kick-off and wrap up socials, conduct post-participation surveys, and maintaining files for all current, pending and past mentors and mentees.

Associate Editor of Northern News

Technology Director

The Technology Director maintains the Section’s technology needs, including managing Google Workspace, assigning and assisting with Board member emails, updating the Section’s website, coordinating with the Communications teams to keep all information current, assisting the Events Coordinators with the on-line calendar of events, maintain other relevant Section information, and work with technical consultants as needed.

Website Coordinator 

The website coordinator is a newly proposed position that would help assist the Technology Director in maintaining the information on the Section’s website to help keep it up-to-date and full of timely and interesting information for our members.

Upcoming Positions (recruiting for October 2024)

Social Media Director 

Do you have a creative side?  Do you love to be in the know?  The Social Media Director works with the Communications Team to regularly disseminate Section news, events and announcements across the Sections’ official social media channels; formulates communications strategies;  helps to build brand awareness by creating and editing written, video, graphics, and photo content; engages with users and responds to social media messages, inquiries, and comments; pushes time-sensitive postings as appropriate; develops creative campaigns for special events and news items; and reviews analytics, and reports on key performance metrics.

South Bay Regional Activity Co-Coordinator 

Do you live or work in the South Bay (Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties)?  Want to get involved in helping to organize events and activities in this area?  The duties of the South Bay Co-Coordinators are to serve as the principal link between the Section and individual members the area and ensure their specific needs are met by the Board; organize meetings and workshops for members; assist the Professional Development Director in carrying out the Section’s professional development programs; and host social functions in order to foster a sense of community and networking opportunities within and among Section members.

For appointed positions, you must be an APA member with current/paid-up membership and reside or practice planning within the Northern Section (Alameda, Contra Costa, Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake, Marin, Mendocino, Monterey, Napa, San Benito, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, and Sonoma counties). If you wish to be considered, please submit your resume and letter of interest outlining why you’d like to be considered for a specific position or positions, any relevant experiences, and what you’ll bring to the position.
