The series will begin on November 25, 2025, with the fundamentals, incorporating recent legislative changes, covering:
- Planning Legal Hierarchy, including an update on state laws—SB 79, AB 507, SB 684/1123
- Ethics and Planning for Equity
- The Role of Commissions within Local Government.
- California’s core land use framework, including general plans, CEQA, and zoning ordinances.
Future sessions in early 2026 will build on this foundation, exploring the details of how recent state legislation is impacting the approval process for housing development and community design.
