Redwood Coast Regional Advisory Council

The Redwood Coast Region includes Del Norte, Humboldt, Mendocino, and Lake Counties.

Ongoing events include a monthly Brown Bag Lunch program, co-sponsored by the Public Health Branch of the Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services.  This co-sponsorship has evolved from an understanding that the results of  urban and rural planning can have an effect on the health of individuals.   Brown Bag Lunch Topics cover a range of topic of interest to planners including: low-income housing concepts, tsunami hazards on the coast, regional trail development, annual CEQA update, and the latest on local general plan updates.

Several social events each year bring together local public and private planners in venues as diverse as local microbreweries, a restored 1930’s movie house, the stately Carson Mansion, and the new public boardwalk in Eureka.

Most events occur in Humboldt County but there is an effort to bring educational workshops and lectures to outlying areas by live web-casting and audio leads by telephone.
