APA California – northern
Creating great communities for all
APA California – Northern (Northern) serves city and regional planners, as well as related professionals, who primarily reside or work in northern California; it was established in the 1950s as one of the three original sections of APA California. Northern’s jurisdiction ranges from Monterey County to the Oregon border, including the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area, along with Lake and San Benito Counties. Northern facilitates continuing education and networking opportunities centered on urban planning. Its initiatives foster communication and information exchange about planning activities, raise public awareness regarding the significance of urban planning, and promote professionalism and ethical standards among its more than 1,400 members.
