Ryan Adamson

Ryan Adamson is an urban planner specializing in communications and public involvement. Ryan has over nine years of experience engaging communities in meaningful conversations about planning policy, land use development, transportation, energy and the environment in both the U.S. and Canada. Ryan believes that good communications and genuine efforts to involve diverse communities in decision-making processes can strengthen outcomes and improve citizen access to their governments. Ryan holds a Masters of Urban Planning from York University in his home town of Toronto, Ontario. Ryan is proud of his efforts to champion diversity, equity and inclusion within his work environments and beyond. At WSP Canada, Ryan served as the Membership Officer for VIBE, the organization’s Employee Resource Group representing LGBTQ2+ employees and allies. Ryan also previously served as a member of the International Association of Public Participation’s (IAP2) Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. He currently serves as a committee member for Build Out Alliance’s Bay Area Chapter representing LGBTQ2+ individuals in the Architecture, Construction and Engineering field.
